It has been rather the ride lately since the Australian government brought in draconian age verification laws, which saw many of us locked out of our Substack accounts and then have to search for new platforms that would prove to be more "safe!" - dare I use that word.

I had a relatively smooth transition over here to Ghost's publishing platform. While it is stable and free from censorship, it has been a goal to have my own website. A place to house all of my content and spread my wings a bit more to incorporate classical works other than my beloved Rome.

This post is to let you know that my website is now published.

It is a Timeline project.

At its core is a portal of Commonplace sayings, memories, ideas - a valued practice in the ancient world and Renaissance era. This is a concept that ties all the other portals together as we reflect on the many inspiring messages from throughout Time, and realise that there is very little which separates us from the past.

Ancient Rome features heavily - naturally! I have already transferred a lot of my essays over.

There are two other portals - one dedicated to Dispatches from along the Timeline; and the other to Why Politics Matters.

All four portals interconnect, but they are categorised individually so that readers only need visit one portal if they choose to.

From now, all of my work will be generated through the website via a newsletter, the same as it works on here.

Letters from Time
Exploring history through portals of time past and future where ancient wisdom speaks through classical texts, letters and manuscripts.

I invite you to join me over there if you are interested to continue receiving Essays or Dispatches. If not, that is absolutely fine. Perhaps later down the road, you may wish to be curious about what this project is about and jump in then.

I won't transfer this current email list over as it is my intention to begin anew. There is a Contact page where you can email me directly to let me know your interest or you can subscribe via the newsletter block located toward the end of each of the pages.

I look forward to meeting you somewhere on the Timeline!

Sincerely,

Gerardine
